In ehrendem Gedenken! In the most honourable memory!

Unsere Sorge nach etlichen, unbeantworteten Nachrichten war traurig begründet: In großer Betroffenheit berichten wir vom unerwartet frühen Heimgang unserer langjährigen Wegbegleiterin, Prof. Dr. Andrea Kárpáti, bereits am 8. August 2025, kurz nach ihrem 70. Geburtstag. Über mehrere Perioden war sie aktives Mitglied unseres internationalen Expertengremiums. An Symposien wirkte sie, wenn ihre persönliche Anwesenheit nicht möglich war, zumindest über Internet mit. Ihre Berichte über Projekte der visual arts und der Linguistik sind in guter Erinnerung.

Professor Andrea Kárpáti war Doktorin der Ungarischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, emeritierte Professorin der Corvinus-Universität, lehrte ebenso an der Eötvös Loránd University sowie an der Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest. Als Vizepräsidentin der International Society for Education through Art (INSEA) und Präsidentin des European Network of Visual Literacy galt sie international als ausgesprochene Expertin ihres Faches. 

We mourn the loss of Prof Dr Andrea Kárpáti, member of our international council of experts. 
Our concern after numerous unanswered messages was sadly justified: With great sadness we report the unexpected passing of our long-time colleague, Prof. Dr. Andrea Kárpáti, on August 8, 2025, shortly after her 70th birthday. She was an active member of our international council of experts for several periods. When she was unable to attend our symposia in person, she used to participate via the internet. Her reports on projects in the visual arts and linguistics are fondly remembered.
